Does your child love space?
My 5 year olds are totally crazy about the planets, the universe, the starts and everything that has to do with the space.
And often they are asking me:
Where do we come from?
How did the earth begun?
Where do we go after we die?
Where Grandpa Peter did went, when he died?
Well, how do you explain to a child that he can imagine it and understands it? Even if I do not understand it…
And then it crossed my mind when we were counting the planets in our orbit.
Our orbit exists of the sun and following planets:
- Uranus and
The answer to a question how did the earth begin, that every child could understand, I told them the following story. The billion and billion years ago, a little tiny piece of the sun crushed. That little fire ball was floating in the universe for so long that is dried out and colder down… And that how the earth was born. (In story of course, if you want to read the true story, here are facts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Earth).
The answer to a second question where did we come from, I helped to explain it in a way that child could imagine. Before we are made, we are on Mercury, then, when mom and dad love each other and our existence begins, we are on Venus 🙂 (I thought that is kind of cute). After we are born, we come to earth and we are here until the so called death. After that we jump from planet to planet – we go to Mars, then Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and at the end we end up in Neptun.
So every time we are talking about death, this is not a forbidden theme and it is understandable through the eyes of a child… I must admit, in that way even I can imagine how it works 🙂
Maybe that story will help you explain how people do travel throughout our existence.
