Some airports have self-check-in machines. Think in front if this option is ok for you – will your child stay still not running around, will your child give you “place” and wait that you focus on checking in?
Sometimes you do not have the other option so here are few suggestions:
- make sure you have enough time between flights to make a self-check in for your next flight.
- make sure, you have all the documents, flight tickets and documents at your disposal, so you will not lose time (maybe consider having a document bag, so you will not turn around your bag completely to get what you need).
- explain your children, especially if you travel alone with them (if they are toddlers, they are big enough to understand), that you will get the boarding passes for your next flight and if they can wait for 5 minutes not to ask you any questions (which is a very often game for toddlers to ask WHY for million times and reasons.
- if you travel with your partner or spouse, make a deal that one goes to self-check-in machines and get all the boarding passes, and the other one is looking after children.
